FADES® is not photochromic technology (like Transitions®), and works indoors and in cars. CONTRAST

Typically 70 to 7% transmission for “light” electrochromic lenses.
Typically 50 to 1% transmission for “dark” electrochromic lenses.


These Light/Dark percent transmission contrast values are the highest reported to date. Note that these transmission values are measured against air reference, unlike other products which report against substrate reference to enhance their numbers.


SWITCHING TIMES

Dark to light transition takes less than two seconds. Light to dark transition takes less than three seconds. This is the fastest switching time of any polymer electrochromic material to date.

Tested to extreme temperatures (-30 to +65° C), extreme humidity, and salt spray. Safety versions conform to ANSI Z87.1, US Military GL-PD 10-12. These are standard military and OSHA specifications for safety eyewear.
