OUR TECHNOLOGY

FADES® was created in conjunction with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and leverages cutting-edge advances in materials science and conducting polymers to bring extremely high-quality performance to the outdoor enthusiast. FADES® is not photochromic technology (like Transitions®), and works indoors and in cars. It transitions within about 2 seconds, has exceptional light/dark contrast, has run over 1.2 million transition cycles without observable loss of function, and lasts more than 30 hours on a single, quick charge.

SWITCHING TIMES

Dark to light transition is nearly instantaneous. Light to dark transition takes less than two seconds. This is the fastest switching time of any polymer electrochromic material to date.
